I Miss You Mom – A Gathering For Motherless Daughters, November 15 in Wolfeboro
“I just wanted to say to anyone whose mom has died that it’s hard. It’s really, really hard.” – Jimmy Fallon
Helen Fernald, Wolfeboro photographer, writer and grief recovery mentor lost her mother very suddenly at the age of forty. Helen was heartbroken. Then she began writing letters to her mother. Eight years later she realized that she was able to accept the loss as well as find renewed peace and joy. Writing helped her understand the importance of sharing one’s story. As a result, Helen has organized a free gathering for motherless daughters. It will take place in Fellowship Hall, located in the basement of the First Congregational Church of Wolfeboro, 115 South Main Street.
The gathering will begin with a short guided meditation. After sharing ways to deal with loss, everyone will meet in groups of two to share their own stories and get to know each other. This group will meet monthly on the third Friday, from 11-12. Everyone is welcome to bring coffee or tea; water will be provided.
If you are interested or have questions, please email Helen Fernald at helenfernald@gmail.com. Please share this information with others who may be interested. This is a Governor Wentworth Arts Council member’s event.
