Letter To My Brother
Dear Charlie,
I miss you. I miss our Saturday calls. I miss your laughter. I miss you! We were lucky to have you in our family. You knew us all very well. You would spend an entire year going to book sales, looking for just the right books for each of us for Christmas.
That first year without you was very hard. I can’t believe you left four years ago. We loved to visit you every year in Cleveland. We had great fun and laughed a lot.
At the end of that first year, I wanted to donate flowers to our church in your memory. But someone else wanted the date closest to your death. So, I picked a date three weeks later. Not on the day of your death, but precisely the day we donated in your memory, I was down by the water early in the morning. I had my eyes closed meditating. When I opened them, right in front of my eyes was a beautiful pink red cloud.
What was so special about it? It looked exactly like an angel. I knew immediately you were right there. Even though I couldn’t see you, I could see your angel. Thank you, Charlie, for still being with us. We love and miss you!
Love,
Helen
